Kevin Spacey is slamming Channel 4 following the news of the documentary, 'Spacey Unmasked,' which the actor is calling "one-sided."

As The Blast previously reported, the 'American Beauty' actor faced numerous accusations of sexual misconduct and harassment, which first began surfacing in 2017.

Several individuals have accused him of inappropriate behavior, including sexual assault, which led to Spacey being fired from the TV series 'House of Cards.' His film, 'All the Money in the World,' was also canceled.

In his U.K. trial, he faced nine criminal charges from four different men, which included unwanted touching to, according to testimony from one man, performing oral sex on the man while he was asleep.

The London court deliberated for twelve hours and 26 minutes before Spacey was acquitted of all nine charges in July 2023.

'Spacey Unmasked' To Investigate Kevin Spacey's Conduct

Channel 4 said the documentary “investigates Spacey’s conduct and talks to multiple men unconnected to [last year’s] case about their experiences with Kevin Spacey, almost all of whom have never spoken before," per Deadline.

Now, Kevin Spacey is breaking his silence, slamming the network.

"Over the last week, I have repeatedly requested that @Channel4 afford me more than 7 days to respond to allegations made against me dating back 48 years and provide me with sufficient details to investigate these matters," he wrote in a statement.

"Channel 4 has refused on the basis that they feel that asking for a response in 7 days to new, anonymized and non-specific allegations is a 'fair opportunity' for me to refute any allegations made against me," he added.

"I will not sit back and be attacked by a dying network's one-sided 'documentary' about me in their desperate attempt for ratings," Spacey added. "There's a proper channel to handle allegations against me, and it’s not Channel 4."

"Each time I have been given the time and a proper forum to defend myself, the allegations have failed under scrutiny, and I have been exonerated," he continued before concluding, "Channel 4 and @RoastBeefTV may find themselves 'speechless,' but I no longer will be."

In 2017, Kevin Spacey came out as gay in response to actor Anthony Rapp’s accusation of sexual misconduct.

“Members of the LGBTQ+ community were upset because I came out while I was responding to an accusation and now I understand why it was read that way,” Spacey later told a court in London, U.K. “It wasn’t how I intended it.”

Rapp was the first man to come forward publicly, claiming the 'House of Cards' actor had made sexual advances towards him at a party when he was 14 years old.

In 2020, actor Anthony Rapp sued Kevin Spacey after New York passed the Child Victims Act, claiming that after he met Spacey backstage at a Broadway play, the 'House Of Cards' actor invited him to a party at his apartment in Manhattan.

Rapp says he was watching TV in a bedroom when Spacey allegedly climbed on top of him and put Rapp on a bed. “I was frozen. I was pinned underneath him,” Rapp testified, adding that he “didn’t want” Spacey to do that to him.

Following the trial, a New York jury of five men and six women found Spacey not guilty of the allegations. According to Variety, the jury deliberated for approximately 80 minutes, after which the presiding judge, Lewis Kaplan, formally dismissed the case.

Rapp released a statement after the verdict was read. "Bringing this lawsuit was always about shining a light, as part of the larger movement to stand up against all forms of sexual violence," he expressed. "I pledge to keep on advocating for efforts to ensure that we can live and work in a world that is free from sexual violence of any kind. I sincerely hope that survivors continue to tell their stories and fight for accountability."

Approximately 30 other victims came forward and made similar claims against the 'Baby Driver' star since.

'Spacey Unmasked' is set to air on Channel 4 in the U.K. on May 6 and 7, 2024. Premiere dates for the U.S. have yet to be announced.
