Kevin Smith made ‘Jay and Silent Bob Reboot’ one year after his heart attack

Kevin Smith gets candid, with Yahoo Entertainment, about the making of his new movie “Jay and Silent Bob Reboot.” The actor, writer and director suffered a massive heart attack last year that almost took his life. “I was told I was on my deathbed,” Smith said. “ I was told I had an 80 percent chance of dying.” It was in the hospital where he had one regret: “If I die tonight, ‘Yoga Hosers’ is the last movie I made … I can’t die. I gotta make ‘Jay and Silent Bob Reboot.” Smith goes on to say that he feels like this is his masterpiece. “I'm going to show everyone this is everything I've learned not just in the 25 years of this business but in the 49 years of my life.” The movie features longtime friend and collaborated, actor Jason Mewes. Smith says Mewes has always wanted to bring the characters back and this time, the timing was right. “The ideas was let's reward him [Mewes] for all his sobriety and let's tell the story of him as a dad through the prism of ‘Jay and Silent Bob.’” Watch the video above to hear more about the making of “Jay and Silent Bob Reboot.”
