Netflix Documentary:

"Good morning, world! Operation wake up and grind get back to what you used to be and surpass that person is about to be in session," he said in a video posted to his Instagram that showed him inside his home gym getting ready for an early morning workout. "Big announcement though, man, I'm releasing a documentary with Netflix and we just got our release date, December 27, and I'm excited about it," he stated. Revealing exactly what fans can expect, Kevin Hart explained, "It's a look into my life over the past year and a half, which has been a hell of a rollercoaster with peaks, hills, ups, down. It's real, it's raw, it's as transparent as you can be. It's something I think people need to see."

The Accident:

The 40-year-old actor ended his post by stating, "[I'm] always looking for ways to improve and progress, and this documentary was one of those ways that would put me in the position to do just that." He then revealed the December release date and told fans he was going to pump some iron. Hart has been progressively getting his strength back after he was involved in an insane car crash in September. The comedian sustained serious injuries to his back which he was forced to get surgery on, and will need at least four months of physical therapy to return to his former mobility.

Kevin Hart went silent on social media during the recovery process and just returned at the end of October to speak on the accident. Sharing news coverage of the incident, he stated it completely changed his outlook on life. "When God talks, you got to listen. In this case, I honestly feel like God told me to sit down. You know, you’re moving too fast, you’re doing too much sometimes you can’t see the things you’re meant to see," he said. Hart made his first public appearance following the crash at the People's Choice Awards this month and gave an emotional speech. "First and foremost, I thank God because I definitely don’t have to be here. "Being that I am, it makes me appreciate life even more. It makes me appreciate the things that really matter. Family. I want to thank my wife and my kids, who really stepped up to the plate for me," he said in front of his peers. "You have no idea the effect that you have on us as entertainers. Your energy, your support. It means the world and I truly want to thank you guys for being there for me in my difficult time."

Rebuilding His Strength:

He's also been keeping fans up-to-date with his workouts as he tries to surpass the strength he had before the accident. Kevin Hart has been pushing hard in the gym, first sharing his challenge of rebuilding in a video on social media over the weekend. "Rebuilding people....I’m not trying to get back to where I was...I’m trying to reach new levels of greatness....not for you guys tho...I’m trying to reach these new levels for MYSELF," he wrote. "I want to inspire & motivate people to challenge themselves to be great. We all have greatness within...it’s up to us to tap into it. Nobody knows what your are capable of more than YOU. I can’t wait to show ME the new levels that we are about to reach!!!! A positive mindset & positive outlook on life are all you need.......you just have to look for it. It’s a lifestyle."
