Season 11 of “The Masked Singer” kicked off with a jaw-dropping reveal that had panelists Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg, Ken Jeong and Rita Ora gobsmacked. But nobody was more surprised to see Book rip off his costume than host Nick Cannon, who quickly realized the novel serenading the audience with “So Sick” by Ne-Yo was the emcee’s “Celebrity Prank Wars” buddy Kevin Hart. The comedian took part in the season premiere just for fun, eliminating himself before the audience or panelists even had a chance to vote.

“I got you, Nick!” Kevin screamed. “This is a prank! You had no idea. You had no idea that I was coming here, Nick. And guess what, Nick? There’s nothing you can do about it!” The host quickly responded, “This is stupid! That was the worst performance ever on the history of this show, how about that?” Kevin wasn’t accepting any insults, retorting, “On purpose, Nick! I performed bad on purpose. I don’t look stupid, I look put together, Nick. You know who looks stupid? You, in that stupid jacket.”

Nick chastised Kevin, stating, “You ruined the show! We were gonna bring everybody out, vote, deliberate.” But Kevin got the final word, saying, “That’s not my problem, that’s your problem! This is me. Kevin Hart 1, you nothing.” With that, Kevin gave one final performance and entertained the audience, despite his complete lack of vocal ability.

Prior to his performance, Book revealed in his clue package, “”Of course I’m the book! I have stories for days and a vocabulary that’s really, what’s the word? Good! And I owe it all to my mom. See, my brother was a troublemaker, so my mom had to lay down the law on me. So I was good at everything, from school to sports, but when it came to performing I was abhorrent. There’s that vocabulary again, that means awful. But I knew I was bound to make it, and these days I’m a best-seller, making over 4 billion dollars at the box office. That’ a lot of paper! Now, I’m here with a cover song from last season’s champion, with a mission to impress one special friend.” Visual clues included a “CRIME” sign, a detective badge, an “Animals 101” book, an “Open Mic Night” sign and a ghost.
