Kevin Federline's Move to Hawaii Might Have Been a Britney Spears Cash Grab After All

Britney Spears’ fans have been speculating for a long time that Kevin Federline was gearing up for a child support case — and they might have been right all along. The former backup dancer has full-time custody of sons Jayden James, 16, and Sean Preston, 17, and currently receives a very generous $40,000 per month from the pop star — but that might not be enough for him.

Now, TMZ is reporting that Federline is mulling the idea of going back to court to ask for more money. The timing sure is curious since he and his wife, Victoria Prince, along with their daughters, Jordan Kay and Peyton Marie, and his sons moved to Hawaii over the summer. (His two children, Kori Madison, 21, and Kaleb Michael Jackson, 19, with ex-fiancée Shar Jackson are now adults.) Hawaii has different child support laws and allows monthly payments to extend up to the age of 23 if the child is enrolled full-time at a college, university, or trade school.

While California law will likely prevail in this case because that is where child support was established, it feels nothing but a cash grab, given the fact that Sean is just days away from turning 18. The money train is ending quickly, and it will be reduced this month to $20,000. Jayden doesn’t graduate from high school until June 2025, so Federline apparently wants to act quickly to get as much money as he can. His argument is that child support was established for part-time care, not full-time parenting.

Federline is going to have a hard time getting support from Spears’ fans, who believe he’s been riding the money train for almost two decades. While he did step up and parent the boys when Spears wasn’t able to, $20,000 is more than enough to cover Jayden’s care — even in an expensive state like Hawaii. The teens currently have no relationship with their mother, but as they move into adulthood, they may see things from a very different perspective. It’s truly a tragic situation from every angle.
