Kevin Costner's 'Strong Suspicions' About Ex Christine Baumgartner & Josh Connor May Have Been Right
They always say you should listen to your gut instincts and that’s what Kevin Costner was reportedly doing at the end of his marriage to Christine Baumgartner. He reportedly felt uncomfortable with his then-wife’s friendship with his pal, Josh Connor — and while he may not be able to prove it, their sudden dating situation might feel like his confirmation.
“Kevin had strong suspicions that something was going on between Christine and Josh,” a source told Us Weekly. “Their close [bond] was a real elephant in the room.” Baumgartner is reportedly dating Connor after settling her contentious divorce with the Yellowstone star last year. What makes this possible relationship rather awkward is that Costner and Baumgartner socialized with the financier and his now ex-wife Patricia because their 13-year-old daughters were friends.

The 69-year-old star raised questions about his wife’s faithfulness during their marriage at their court proceedings. It was revealed that Connor had loaned her $20,000 to pay bills with $10,000 going to her mother. She claimed she returned the other half, but insisted she would be paying him back. These revelations came just after Baumgartner and Connor had made their first trip to Hawaii together in July, which she insisted was just platonic. “It’s hard to say if there was anything going on with them, but he did put his hand on her leg at one point that I saw,” a source told the Daily Mail about their cozy encounter. “That was the only actual physical interaction.”
Baumgartner and Connor have since gone on two other trips together with the Us Weekly insider claiming that their friendship turned romantic “relatively recently.” They also revealed that Baumgartner doesn’t have much patience with Costner’s accusations since he has happily moved on with Jewel. “Christine doesn’t think Kevin has anything to complain about,” they added. “Josh has been Christine’s rock throughout the divorce ordeal. If Kevin has a problem with that, that’s on him.”
While things are reportedly “better” between Costner and his ex-wife, there seem to be a few lingering doubts about Baumgartner and Connor. However, a second source noted that the former couple doesn’t “want it to get ugly for the kids’ sake,” so let’s hope this is just a hiccup they are working through in their new family dynamic.
