Emmy-winning actor Dabney Coleman has died at age 92, according to a statement released by his family. The actor's career spans six decades and includes memorable turns in 9 to 5, Tootsie, Wargames, and You've Got Mail. Most recently, he portrayed John Dutton, Sr., in the Paramount Network drama Yellowstone.

Yellowstone shared the news on Instagram with the message, "We're saddened by the passing of the Dabney Coleman, a legendary actor and member of the Yellowstone family."

Fans left thoughtful comments about Dabney's performance as John Dutton, Sr.: "Most touching scene of the whole show when he played that part! He will be greatly missed" and "The scene with him and Kevin Costner when he takes him out on his horse and they sit together and talk and his dad cries was the most touching scene of the whole series. ❤️"

Wendy Moniz, who portrays Senator Lynelle Perry, wrote, "So saddened by this…Had the pleasure of working with him on a series many years ago, and I was so moved to watch him in this role on YS 🙏"

Kevin Costner stars as John Dutton, the son of Dabney's character on Yellowstone. The two shared a powerful flashback scene in "Sins of the Father" from the season 2 finale.

Kevin shared a scene from the episode on his Instagram story and wrote, "One of the most heart wrenching scenes I've been a part of. What an honor to have gotten to work with Dabney Coleman. May he rest in peace."
