Kevin Bacon Tackles a Boston Accent in New 'City On a Hill' Trailer (Video)

Philadelphia native Kevin Bacon tackles a Boston accent in the latest trailer for “City On a Hill,” the Boston-set drama executive produced for Showtime by locals Matt Damon and Ben Affleck.

The Golden Globe-winning actor plays a corrupt FBI veteran who forms an unlikely alliance with assistant district attorney, played by Aldis Hodge.

“I treat everyone the same way — bad,” Bacon says in the teaser released Friday. “I wanna rip out the f—-‘d up machinery in this bulls–t city,” Hodge tells him in return.

Jonathan Tucker, Mark O’Brien, Jill Hennessy, Lauren E. Banks, Amanda Clayton, Kevin Chapman and Jere Shea also star in the 10-episode series set to premiere on Sunday, June 16.

Created by Chuck MacLean (“Boston Strangler”), the drama is set in early 1990s Beantown, which Showtime reminds us was rife with violent criminals emboldened by local law enforcement agencies in which corruption and racism was the norm. That all changed in what was called the “Boston Miracle.”

Per the network, the fictional account driving that change is Decourcy Ward (Hodge), who comes from Brooklyn and forms an unlikely alliance with a corrupt yet venerated FBI veteran, Jackie Rhor (Bacon). Together, they take on a family of armored car robbers from Charlestown in a case that grows to involve, and ultimately subvert, the entire criminal justice system of Boston.

“City On a Hill” premieres Sunday, June 16 at 9/8c on Showtime.
