Kevin Bacon suggests anti-Valentine's Day songs for 'people who are not in love'

Valentine's Day can be tough for some, but Kevin Bacon's got you covered!

The "Footloose" alum, 64, often shares song recommendations, with one special playlist dedicated to "Monday Blues."

Bacon's edition on Monday added three songs for those dodging Cupid's arrow. "Love got you down? I’ve got just the thing for those #MondayBlues. Today, I’m spinning a few anti-Valentines songs," he captioned a video. "It’ll be alright."

In a video, he said, "Tomorrow...Valentine's Day. That's great. I'm happy for you if you're in love."

"What happens if this day rolls around that everyone's parading their hearts and flowers and love in front of you, and you don't have love in your life?" the actor continued. "So this is a special Monday Blues edition for those people who are not in love. Maybe you lost it, maybe you never had it. Maybe you don't want it."

Bacon's three additions to his Spotify playlist included "Love Stinks" by the J. Geils Band, "Don't Think Twice, It's All Right," by Bob Dylan and "I Hate Myself for Loving You" by Joan Jett and the Blackhearts."

The "Crazy, Stupid, Love" star's "Monday Blues" playlist has racked up 291 songs, with new ones added each week.

Bacon's anti-Valentine's Day song additions might not be played on the day of love for him. The actor has been married to Kyra Sedgwick since 1988 and they share children Sosie Bacon, 30, and Travis Bacon, 33.

Bacon discussed the glue to his relationship with Sedgwick in an interview with People in July 2020, noting that they are each other's biggest cheerleaders.

"Kyra and I believe in each other as actors, as directors and as talent. She's never been anything other than supportive of me," he shared. "She doesn't have a competitive bone in her body when it comes to me. She takes my successes as hers. I'm the same way."
