Kevin Bacon's anniversary gift to Kyra Sedgwick wasn't too baaa-d!

During a bonus episode of the podcast Six Degrees with Kevin Bacon, released Thursday, the 65-year-old actor and podcast host explained how a pair of miniature goats ended up being the perfect anniversary gift for his wife, 58, during the pandemic.

Bacon and Sedgwick's pet goats — Louie and Macon — are fixtures on Bacon's social media accounts but first joined the family as symbols of love.

"During the pandemic, for some reason, I decided that for our anniversary, I should get Kyra some goats," Bacon said in the bonus episode of Six Degrees. "So I went and got these miniature goats. There was two of 'em. They were super, super cute."

"I put them in a stall down in the barn; I didn't tell her about it. I went down and said, 'I have a surprise for you for our anniversary.' I took her in the stall, and there were these two goats looking at her," Bacon added. "And she loved them."

The Footloose actor and Sedgwick have been married since 1988 and share two children: 34-year-old Travis Bacon and 31-year-old Sosie Bacon.

Louie and Macon are no longer the couple's only goats. Now, Bacon regularly posts videos of himself singing to a menagerie of farm animals, which included four goats, two pigs, three miniature horses, and three alpacas as of 2023.

The singing to goats, Bacon explained on his podcast, occurred as a direct result of a gift from pal Jimmy Fallon.

"Not to drop a name, but Jimmy Fallon had randomly sent me this instrument that was a three-stringed instrument. Almost like a Dobro — if anyone's familiar with that — with a droning tone on it. I started playing it, and one day I was trying to play this thing, I'm practicing it, I think I'll just go out and play it with the goats," Bacon said.

"I'm not quite sure if I was calming down because I was playing music or if the actual music was having any sort of effect on them, or if their energy was calming me down, but the whole thing felt right."

So far, Bacon's barnyard renditions of songs have included Chicago's "Saturday in the Park," The Beatles' "Two of Us," Billie Eilish's "What Was I Made For," and Beyoncé's "Heated."

"People were like, 'We love you singing with the goats.' Kevin and I are like, 'Great, have you seen our movies or TV shows?' "Sedgwick told PEOPLE of the couple's viral TikTok clips in 2023. "But it makes people happy."

In November, Bacon revealed that goat and pig products are now off the table in his diet. "I love animals, they are a joy to be around, and they're very, very calming for me," he said.
