Kevin Bacon & Kyra Sedgwick Are Making This Hollywood Power Couple Move After 20 Years

Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick are one of Hollywood’s most enduring couples, but they usually keep their 35-year marriage off the big screen. That’s all about to change as they finally reunite onscreen for the first time in 20 years in the upcoming film, Connescence.
Fans might be disappointed to know that they won’t be playing husband and wife in the film, but their characters do spark a very questionable relationship. The romantic comedy tells the tale of a security guard, played by Bacon, who interrupts a robbery at a urologist’s home (aka Sedgwick’s character). A friendship blossoms between the two of them after the incident, but it threatens the urologist’s marriage, per Deadline. Uh oh, sounds like drama!

The couple shared their enthusiasm about working together on the rom-com with the media outlet. “We are so excited to work together on screen again for the first time in 20 years in such a funny, moving and original script,” they said. The last time the dynamic duo collaborated onscreen was in 2004 on two projects, Cavedweller and The Woodsman. However, they have worked together with Bacon directing his wife in Loverboy in 2005 and four episodes of her TV show, The Closer. Sedgwick later returned the favor by directing her husband in 2022’s Space Oddity.
This is a full-circle moment for the happy couple since they first met on the set of Lemon Sky in 1987. It was only love at first sight for one of them, though. “I was knocked out,” Bacon recalled to People. “I thought she was amazing.” Sedgwick thought her future husband was “really cool,” but it took some time for her to agree to go out on a date with him. “I remember waking up and going, ‘I feel like home,'” she reminisced after a dinner date that extended into the wee hours with good conversation. “I realized, ‘Oh, that was him.'”
Those hours of laughter have continued for over three decades in their loving partnership. Bacon believes he knows the secret to their success in an industry that isn’t known for its long-term relationships. “To me, walking down the street together just shooting the s**t in the middle of the night still feels like a nice place to be,” he summed up. Hollywood might want to take a page from Bacon and Sedgwick’s romantic playbook because it has lasted a lifetime.
