Kevin Bacon Killed, Actor With Same Name Pays Tribute

Movie star Kevin Bacon is taking a moment to think about the death of a young man that hits very close to home, especially since the victim's name is his own.

50-year-old Mark Lutanski was arraigned Monday in Corunna, Michigan on charges of murder and mutilation in connection with the death of 25-year-old Kevin Bacon. Bacon's family became worried when the man did not show up for breakfast on Christmas day, after he had been out on a date. 'RIP KB'

On Monday, the "Tremors" star took to his Instagram page to pay tribute to the loss of the other Kevin Bacon in an emotional message. Alongside a photo of the young man, the star wrote:

"For obvious reasons I’m thinking this morning about the friends and Family of this young person Kevin Bacon. His life was taken from him much too soon. His love was hair dressing. I bet he would have done a great job on this mess on my head. RIP KB"

What Happened

Bacon's friend and roommate told the The Flint Journal-MLive that he had informed her he was meeting a man on Christmas Eve after connecting on a dating app. The app in question was allegedly, Grindr.

He later texted that he was going to be out for a while and that he was "having fun," but wasn't sure when he'd be back. After Bacon no-showed at his family's home on Christmas morning, they alerted authorities and filed a missing person report.

Bacon's father, Karl, led the charge on informing the media about his missing son, and Bacon's photo soon went viral on social media.

Tragic Ending

Bacon's car was eventually located in a parking lot near Swartz Creek, along with his cellphone, wallet and a bag of clothes.

Using Facebook postings and help from friends, police were soon directed to a home where they found Bacon. The manner of death is currently unclear.

Latunski appeared via video from an undisclosed room for his arraignment when he was hit with the charges of murder and mutilation. He had a long beard and stood with his hands behind his back while he denied to be the person officials were after. Latunski faces life in prison if found guilty.

Meanwhile, a GoFundMe has been set up to help cover the expenses of Bacon's funeral, and the page has already raised over $34,000.
