In a night full of tulle and big sleeves, Kerry Washington stood out on the Golden Globes red carpet with a bold look — no shirt required.

Washington, who was a presenter on the show held on Sunday night at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California, rocked a black blazer with just body jewelry underneath.

The sparkling knotted chain, which draped across the "Scandal" star's chest and fell to her waist, also perfectly matched her glittering sandals.

Washington topped off the look with a bold red lip and a black silk skirt that featured a thigh-high split.

Celebrity stylist Law Roach, who counts Zendaya as a client, helped select the dramatic ensemble by Altuzarra. It was the first time Washington and Roach have worked together.

"She trusted me with such a big look, which was unreal," Roach told People. "She tried on 10 dresses and this one was number nine. She put it on and we couldn't remember the first eight."

Roach said that both he and Washington instantly knew it was the one.

"She is a bada-- and that's what I want people to see," he added. "That's what I want the look to be about. A bada--, kicka-- woman who's not afraid of anything."

And when it came to keeping the look secure, Roach revealed they simply stuck to a tried but trusty source.

"It's the good old double-stick tape," he said. "That's kept us in business for years and years."
