Kerry Washington is down to see Olivia Pope on the big screen!

Speaking with Extra on Wednesday night at The Hollywood Reporter’s Women in Entertainment event, the Scandal star, 46, admitted she would be game for a reboot of the hit series as a movie.

However, the actress admitted the decision would ultimately be left up to the creator of the ABC series, Shonda Rhimes.

“That is a question for Shonda Rhimes. I will be there if it happens,” Washington told Extra.

And the idea could soon be a reality! Earlier this year, Rhimes, 53, also dabbled with the possibility of bringing Washington’s character back, but for another television show instead.

"Oh, Olivia Pope," she told IMdb during an interview in May when asked which of her characters she'd like to bring back. "I like that character so much, even when she was bad. I like that character so much, she's very interesting."

The series, which ended its seven-season run in 2018, followed Washington’s character Olivia Pope, who was a former White House Communications Director to the U.S. President. The antiheroine in the steamy political drama took viewers for a ride as she starts her own crisis management firm only to realize her clients are not the only ones with secrets.

In September, the Thicker Than Water author sent fans into a frenzy when she uploaded an Instagram video with her Scandal co-star Tony Goldwyn. The pair had a complicated love story in the Shondaland series.

Goldwyn, 63, played President Fitzgerald "Fitz" Thomas Grant III, who was married to Melody "Mellie" Grant (played by Bellamy Young), on the show. He and Pope developed a forbidden romance that was beloved by fans.

"Hi 👋🏾 D.C #Olitz is ready for you ❤️," Washington wrote in the caption, a nod to their characters Olivia and Fitz.

As fans patiently await a possible Scandal spin-off, there are plenty of other real-life bombshells that can be found in the Ray actress’ memoir.

"There's a phrase, 'You're as sick as your secrets', " Washington told PEOPLE in September ahead of Thicker Than Water’s release. "I think there's some truth in that. There's so much healing and liberation in the truth and not feeling like we have to hide."

The actress, who’d also shared that she’s always “been a very private person when it comes to the public,” also opened up about her marriage to football star-turned-actor Nnamdi Asomugha.

She and the former Raiders cornerback tied the knot in June 2013, but she kept the news a secret “for months.”
