Kentucky Derby 150: Kentucky Derby Festival tickets are on sale. Here's what to know
Kentucky Derby Festival event tickets for this upcoming year are on sale now, months earlier than usual.
Ticket sales went live on KDF.org on Oct. 27 at 10 a.m. for major events within the month-long celebration leading that leads up to the 150th Kentucky Derby, which will be held on May 4 at the storied Churchill Downs racetrack in Louisville. The festival is considered the largest single-attended event in Kentucky and one of the leading community celebrations in the world.
"We know Derby Festival fans like to plan ahead, so we’re putting tickets on sale now, months earlier than usual," Matt Gibson, Kentucky Derby Festival president and CEO, said in the release. "This new on-sale date also comes just in time for the holiday season for those looking for stocking stuffers or gift ideas. We do encourage everyone to purchase early as many of our ticketed events sell out quickly."

This upcoming year marks the 69th year for the Kentucky Derby Festival, which is an independent community organization supported by 4,000 volunteers, more than 400 businesses and civic groups, Pegasus Pin sponsorships, and event participation.
The Kentucky Derby festival entertains more than 1.5 million people every spring and has a local economic impact of more than $127 million.
