Kentucky-based chain Drake's plans fifth location in Louisville

Attention, fans of Drake’s. Another location is on the way to Louisville.

The popular Kentucky-founded restaurant, specializing in burgers, beer, sushi and other pub fare, is planning a new location at 3501 Outer Loop in south Louisville.

Along with restaurants such as Malone’s and Harry’s, Drake’s is owned by Lexington-based Bluegrass Hospitality Group.

Construction should begin in October on the newest Drake’s, according to Leela Atchison, director of marketing for Bluegrass Hospitality Group.

The eatery’s planned opening date is set for Spring 2024, Atchison told the Courier Journal.

“We love the Louisville market and our Louisville guests have been so great to Drake’s,” she said. “We knew we had guests in the Outer Loop area that required a longer drive to get to one of our restaurants so wanted to make it more convenient for them.”

This will mark the fifth Louisville-area location for Drake’s, which first joined the market in 2011. Others include 3939 Shelbyville Road, 921 Summit Plaza Drive and 651 S. Hurstbourne Parkway, as well as a spot in Jeffersonville, Indiana, which opened in March.

Drake’s has 22 locations in total, with a plan to open its 23rd location later this year in Danville, Ky.
