Kenny Rogers to Play Country Classics & Yuletide-Themed Songs on Christmas Tour

Kenny Rogers will bring his own brand of Christmas cheer to audiences across North America later this year.

The Country Music Hall of Fame member has announced a 25-date yuletide tour, starting Nov. 12 in Niagara Falls, Ontario and wrapping Dec. 23 at Westbury, New York. Special guest Linda Davis will join the country legend on his Christmas & Hits Through The Years trek, his 33rd Christmas tour.

Fans should expect to hear Rogers perform a mix of old favorites and Christmas-themed songs. His setlist will feature “White Christmas,” “O Holy Night,” “The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting On An Open Fire)” and originals such as “Mary, Did You Know,” and Rogers is expected to perform his big country classics “Lady,” “The Gambler,” “Islands In The Stream,” “Lucille,” “Ruby, Don’t Take Your Love To Town, “She Believes In Me,” and “Daytime Friends.”

Rogers’ festive spirit extends to a new recording. He’ll lend his vocals to Jim Brickman’s original song “That Silent Night,” which will appear on Brickman’s album On A Winter’s Night: The Songs and Spirit of Christmas. The set will be available exclusively at Amazon from Oct. 7.  A portion of all album sales will benefit the Zach Sobiech Osteosarcoma Fund, which supports research into osteosarcoma, a rare and aggressive bone cancer. The fund is named after the budding teenage artist Zach Sobiech, who passed away from the condition in 2013 after enjoying a viral hit with his song “Clouds”.

Rogers, who has sold more than one hundred million records worldwide, was formally inducted as a new member of the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville in October 2013. In the same month, he released his most recent album, You Can’t Make Old Friends. The title track, a duet with Dolly Parton (it also appears on Dolly’s Blue Smoke album), has earned the collaborators a nomination in the musical event of the year category at November’s CMA Awards. It’s their fifth joint nomination as a duo for the CMAs.

Rogers has charted a record in each of the last seven decades, and received the Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award at the 47th Annual CMA Awards last fall. Over the course of a stellar career, he has received three Grammys, 11 People’s Choice Awards, 18 American Music Awards, eight Academy of Country Music awards and six CMA awards.
