Free agent wide receiver Kenny Golladay spent two days meeting with the New York Giants and will remain in the East Rutherford area as negotiations continue.

Golladay reportedly arrived in New Jersey on Thursday evening, took a rapid COVID-19 test and proceeded to meet with members of the organization. On Friday, the 27-year-old underwent a medical examination at the Hospital for Special Surgery and then returned to Giants facilities for further meetings.

Ralph Vacchiano of SNY reports that both the meetings and medical exam went “very well” and optimism remains that a deal will get hammered out.

The Giants remain interested in the free-agent receiver, according to a source, after Golladay’s extended visit and job interview finally came to an end on Friday evening. His meetings with Giants coach Joe Judge and GM Dave Gettleman went “very well,” the source said, and the team was pleased with the report they got about his troublesome hip after his medical examination.

Although fans may be concerned with Golladay leaving team facilities on Friday evening, it’s not an indication that things went sour or that they’re far apart on a deal. It just happened to be the end of business and there was no sense hanging out in an office all night long.

The bottom line is that all potential concerns with Golladay have been quelled and, as Vacchiano adds, serious negotiations are expected to continue on Saturday.

Whatever concerns they had, though, were apparently eased during the time they spent with Golladay. And that cleared the way for serious negotiations to begin. Those talks are expected to continue at least until Saturday, especially while Golladay remains in town.

Two hurdles cleared, one to go…
