Kenny Chesney is bringing his Sun Goes Down 2024 Tour to Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre in Phoenix on Wednesday, July 24.
Chesney is known for his stadium shows, which are where his No Shoes Nation comes together at its most powerful.
But long before the man became the only country artist in Billboard’s Top 10 Touring Acts of the Last 25 Years, he captured the imagination of young people coming of age across America with amphitheater and arena shows that had the same intensity, but also an intimacy.

Kenny Chesney says 'there is nothing like being out on the lawn'
In a press release, Chesney talked about missing those smaller, more intimate shows.
“There is nothing like being out on the lawn with your friends, or even under the pavilion, on a clear night hearing the music and just being in the moment," he says.
"You can do some things in that environment you can’t at a stadium. It’s less production, less massive, but there’s a real sense of connection that is undeniable.”
This is Kenny Chesney's first Phoenix concert in 6 years
Chesney last played Phoenix when the Trip Around the Sun Tour made its way to Chase Field in 2018.
The Republic said of that show, "Kenny Chesney is in many ways the Jimmy Buffett of his generation, leading members of his No Shoes Nation in one carefree singalong after another at the summer's biggest party, which rolled into Chase Field Saturday."
Who is opening the Kenny Chesney concert?
Chesney will be joined by special Megan Moroney.
Moroney is a People’s Choice Awards Female Country Artist of the Year nominee and Country Music Association Song of the Year and Best New Artist nominee.
