Kendrick Lamar has added yet another accolade under his belt as his new single, “Not Like Us,” has broken Spotify’s record for the most streamed rap song in a single day.

On Tuesday (May 7), Chart Data reported that “Not Like Us” had amassed the most streams of any Hip-Hop song since Spotify’s launch back in 2008. A diss record targeting Lamar’s rap rival Drake, “Not Like Us” racked up nearly several million streams within 24 hours of its release.

The song ironically surpassed the previous record of 6.593 million single-day streams set by Drake’s Lil Baby-assisted Certified Lover Boy single “Girls Want Girls” in 2021.

“Not Like Us” marks the most recent barb thrown in the lyrical showdown between Lamar and Drake, as both rap stars have released multiple diss records attacking the other.

After exchanging shots on records like Drake’s “First Person Shooter” and Metro Boomin and Future’s “Like That,” both hitmakers upped the ante, with Drizzy releasing “Push Ups,” “Taylor Made,” “Buried Alive Pt. 2,” “Family Matters,” and “The Heart Part 6,” and K.Dot returning fire on “Euphoria,” “Meet The Grahams,” and the aforementioned “Not Like Us.”

Produced by DJ Mustard, “Not Like Us” finds the Compton native levying serious allegations of pedophilia against his Candia-born adversary. On the song’s opening verse, the Grammy Award winning artist addressed Drake’s seeming gravitation towards younger women, some of which Lamar has alleged were underage.

“Say, Drake, I hear you like ’em young/ You better not ever go to cell block one/ To any bi**h that talk to him and they in love/ Just make sure you hide your lil’ sister from him,” he warns, later adding, “Certified Lover Boy? Certified pedophiles.”

Drake subsequently denied Kendrick’s incendiary accusations on “The Heart Part 6,” reasoning that his profile as a celebrity is too high to have evaded such charges throughout the duration of his career.

“I never been with no one underage, but now I understand why this the angle that you really mess with/ Just for clarity, I feel disgusted, I’m too respected/ If I was f**king young girls, I promise I’d have been arrested/ I’m way too famous for this sh*t you just suggested,” he rhymed in his defense while hijacking Lamar’s “The Heart” series concept.
