Kendra Wilkinson and Hank Baskett Agree to Split Child Custody as They Finalize Divorce

Kendra Wilkinson and Hank Baskett‘s divorce has been finalized.

On Thursday, a judge signed off on the former couple’s divorce judgment and they were restored to the status of single persons, according to court documents obtained by The Blast.

“It’s still surreal. She’s been waiting to put this all behind her,” a source close to Wilkinson, 33, tells PEOPLE.

“She was of course heartbroken when her marriage fell apart, but soon realized this is what’s best for everyone,” says the source. “She’s focusing on herself, her health and most importantly her children. She’s looking forward to what the future holds.”

Both Wilkinson and Baskett, 36, have agreed to split joint legal and physical custody of their two children — son Hank IV, 9, and daughter Alijah Mary, 4 — the documents state.

The finalization comes nearly three months after a judge rejected their divorce settlement, according to TMZ. Wilkinson and Baskett reportedly failed to fill out the papers correctly, entering the incorrect jurisdiction date and forgetting to complete a section of the papers.

They first submitted the settlement, which included details about custody, support and property, in October.

After nearly nine years of marriage, the Girls Next Door star filed for divorce from Baskett in April 2018. The same day she filed, Baskett responded with his filing and mirrored her documents. Both cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for their split, listed their date of separation as Jan. 1, 2018, and requested joint legal and physical custody of their two children.

The former Playboy model’s filing came hours after she confirmed in an Instagram post that they’d broken up.

“Today is the last day of my marriage to this beautiful man. I will forever love Hank and be open but for now we have chosen to go our own ways,” she captioned a photo of herself and Baskett.

“I’m beyond sad and heartbroken because I did believe in forever, that’s why I said yes but unfortunately too much fear has gotten in the way. We are both amazing parents and our kids will be happy n never know the difference other than seeing mama smile,” she continued.

In mid-October, Wilkinson revealed that she had signed her “last divorce paper.”

“Signed my last divorce paper Friday. Brutal,” she tweeted Oct. 15. “I gave it all I got. Truly did. I’m beyond proud of myself!! Fought to save til the last second. Oh well. Life goes on. Bye lol.”
