Kendall Jenner has deleted a picture from Twitter after facing backlash from Selena Gomez fans who accused her of shading the singer in a retweet about the image.

The image showed Kendall celebrating the Easter weekend in the same pink floral Rodarte dress that Selena Gomez wore in the video for De Una Vez which she released back in January. However the drama arose when Kendall retweeted a fan account who had shared the images alongside a caption which read, "kendall jenner pulling off this dress better than anyone else." Kendall added the comment, "had to take it home from set" to her retweet.

While Kendall may have meant no harm with the retweet, Selena Gomez fans quickly began flooding Jenner's replies with comments accusing her of shading Selena Gomez who famously wore the same dress in the De Una Vez music video earlier this year.

On Twitter Selena fans quickly began criticising Kendall, calling her "petty" while others commented that they felt the shade was deliberate. One person tweeted, "... there was no reason to compare kendall and selena over a dress they both looked stunning in... kendall should've just sat there and held her chicken instead of quoting that tweet to begin with... she knew good and well what she was doing."

Meanwhile, others defended Kendall, saying that although it wasn't wise of her to retweet the comment, she didn't deserve the treatment she was getting from Selena's fans.

Since the drama started neither Kendall nor Selena has publicly commented, however Kendall has deleted the retweet, although the images remain on her Twitter and Instagram, where the comments are full of Selena fans writing the song name De Una Vez.
