Kenan Thompson teams with All That alums for new kids' show
Kenan Thompson has made a name for himself on sketch comedy shows All That and Saturday Night Live, and now he’s giving youngsters a chance to do the same: The comedian has partnered with pocket.watch, a media brand aimed at children ages 2-11, to create a new series titled pocket.watch presents SKOOGLE.
Thompson is teaming up with some fellow All That alums — Albie Hecht, pocket.watch’s chief content officer and the executive behind All That, and All That actor Josh Server — for SKOOGLE, where Thompson will voice the titular character, a Siri-like digital assistant that will help kids solve problems. According to a press release, SKOOGLE will “satirize everything from service apps to streaming entertainment to social media” and, according to Thompson, is inspired by “the ‘never too young’ entrepreneurial spirit that is encouraging kids everywhere to start doing their own businesses at any age. And have a blast doing it!”
“Kenan Thompson is a comedic genius,” Hecht said in a statement. “At Nickelodeon, I witnessed first-hand Kenan and his fellow cast members ability to turn everyday scenarios into hilarious adventures. I’m very excited to have the opportunity to once again reteam with Kenan and bring premium sketch comedy to a new generation of fans.”
SKOOGLE, which will broadcast on pocket.watch, does not yet have a premiere date.
