Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell's 'Good Burger 2' gets an official release date

Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell’s Good Burger 2 will be arriving just in time for Thanksgiving. According to Deadline, the long-awaited film will drop on the Paramount+ streaming platform on Nov. 22 in the United States and Canada. Viewers in the United Kingdom and Australia will receive it the following day (Nov. 23).

Good Burger 2 follows the 1997 hit Good Burger, a teen comedy that spawned from a skit on the Nickelodeon series “All That.” Thompson and Mitchell starred as the iconic characters Dexter Reed and Ed, respectively, a couple of fast food employees who found themselves taking down their sinister competitor, Mondo Burger. In the sequel, the duo return to the Good Burger restaurant 26 years later with an updated team of co-workers. Newcomers Alex R. Hibbert, Fabrizio Guido, Lil Rel Howery, Jillian Bell, Kamaia Fairburn, Anabel Graetz, and Elizabeth Hinkle join original cast members like Lori Beth Denberg, Carmen Electra, and Josh Server.

“I can’t believe it’s been a little over 25 years since great customer service was born at Good Burger!” said Thompson via press release when Good Burger 2 was officially announced back in March. “Being part of something so many generations of people have come to love has made me so proud and now to be back where it all began working on the sequel is surreal! Love performing with my brother Kel and can’t wait to show the fans what these two characters have been up to since we last saw them.”

Mitchell added, “Ed is one of those timeless characters that has brought so much joy and laughter to fans, and it’s such an amazing blessing to still be doing it after all these years. It’s super awesome to come back and continue the stories of Dex, Ed and Good Burger for both the people who grew up watching and their kids!”
