EXCLUSIVE: Ken Jeong, Sarah Chalke and Krystal Smith have been cast in guest roles on the upcoming Season 2 of Animal Control.

Jeong’s role will reunite him with his Community co-star Joel McHale, who leads the Fox workplace comedy. The comedian, who is also a judge on Fox’s The Masked Singer, will play “Lee Park,” a well-respected, moderately unhinged dog whisperer.

More from Deadline

Chalke has been cast for the guest star role of “Yazmin,” Frank’s (McHale) “one who got away.”

Smith will appear in a recurring guest star role as “Bettany,” Emily’s (Vella Lovell) tenacious and tough new assistant. Smith returns to Fox, having previously starred as “Mandy Matthews” in Welcome to Flatch.

Animal Control got the Season 2 go ahead in May after a successful launch as Fox’s most-streamed scripted debut of all time. The second installment is set to premiere on March 6.

The series is a workplace comedy following a group of animal control workers whose lives are complicated by the fact that animals are simple, but humans are not.

It stars McHale, who hosted Fox reality series Crime Scene Kitchen, as Frank Shaw, an opinionated, eccentric Animal Control officer who may not have gone to college but is still the most well-read person in the room. A former cop, Frank tried to expose corruption in his department, but his efforts got him fired, which may explain why he’s so cynical and curmudgeonly. He has an almost superhuman ability to understand animals. Humans…not so much.

It also stars Michael Rowland as Frank’s new partner Fred “Shred” Taylor, Vella Lovell as awkward boss Emily Price, Ravi Patel and Grace Palmer as Amit Patel and Victoria Sands, partners in the office, and Gerry Dee as Templeton Dudge, an Animal Control officer from a neighboring precinct with a real chip on his shoulder.

Animal Control is produced by Fox Entertainment Studios and executive-produced by Fisher, Greenberg, Sterling, Tad Quill, Jake Fuller (JAX Media) and McHale. The series is distributed by Fox Entertainment Global.
