Keltie Knight’s Golden Globes started out glamorous and ended up tragic — but she bounced back in style for the Critics Choice Awards.

The E! News correspondent lost a 4-carat diamond on the red carpet at last week’s Golden Globes and documented her fruitless search for the rock. This go-around, she wised up, opting for a dramatic glove look for Sunday night’s red carpet.

Knight wore a black and red gown from Milan fashion brand The Rizkianto as she kicked off her red carpet coverage at the Santa Monica Airport’s Barker Hangar. Her two-piece look featured a black boatneck bodysuit with a sheer red lace skirt that sat high on either side of her hips and lower under her belly button, cascading down into a short train around her feet.

She added a pair of long black gloves that hit just above her elbows and were an intentional accessory after last week’s diamond fiasco, as she jokingly wrote on Instagram, “Can’t be trusted to wear 💎 on the carpet so I wore gloves.”

Knight chose minimal jewelry all around — likely another intentional move — but sported a flashy silver bangle on one wrist and a pair of chunky silver block earrings.

After Sunday’s diamond debacle, Knight told PEOPLE that the ring was brand new — and had been a gift from her husband, Chris Knight, for their 10-year anniversary. Thankfully, it was not her engagement ring.

"I wore it every day because it was a sleeker design than my original ring," she said. "I actually slept in it the night before, because I’m so forgetful. I was worried I would forget my rings for the Globes. I never sleep in rings."

The LadyGang podcast host also offered an update on the status of the ring.

"I’ve done some deep digging, and based on my iPhone videos it was lost between the E! red carpet position and the photo area on the Globes carpet, which were honestly right beside each other," she shared. "I had it on my hand when I was making a selfie video when I first walked down to our spot, and by the time they took my photos it was gone."

Knight added, "I called E! Production and the Hilton to have everyone double check, but I’m convinced it’s probably stuck to the bottom of someone’s shoe right now or stuck inside Jennifer Lopez’s rose cape!"

After realizing the diamond had fallen out of the ring while she was on the red carpet, Knight immediately shared her "Golden Globes emergency" on Instagram.

"If you're a celebrity and you see a 4-carat diamond on the red carpet, please return it to Keltie Knight at E!" she said in a selfie-style video. "Cause it's gone and, um... It's real."

She also included some clues in the video, hinting at where she'd last seen the diamond. "Clue #1: I had the diamond when I finished makeup because we cleaned it," she wrote on her Instagram Story. "When I did photos it was gone."

She later shared a photo of herself on her hands and knees searching the red carpet for the stone — all while wearing a restrictive, body-hugging dress and heels. Disappointingly, she came up empty.

"I had prepared so hard for the carpet, and I was singularly focused on getting Jennifer Lawrence to talk about the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City finale!" she told PEOPLE. "There was no time to be worried about a diamond."
