According to Kelsea Ballerini, putting a little glitter on your face can go a long way toward boosting your mood.

"I'm a glitter girl. I just think you can't have a bad day when you have glitter on your face," Ballerini, 30, tells PEOPLE exclusively as she celebrates the Nov. 1 launch of her first-ever makeup collaboration with CoverGirl, Exhibitionist by Kelsea Ballerini Liquid Glitter Eyeshadows. The celeb collab is CoverGirl's first since 2017.

The highly pigmented liquid eyeshadows come in five limited-edition shades of rose gold with a metallic glitter finish, which were inspired by Ballerini's favorite holiday looks. The "Blindsided" singer also gave each shade a unique name: Glitter Up, Nashville Dream, Golden Magic, Sparkly Boots and Forever.

"I wanted it to represent me and the things that I love," Ballerini, who insisted the product be "glittery" when she was approached about a collaboration, says.

Ballerini, who celebrated her 30th birthday in September, is in her season of "play" — and there's no better way to do that up than with some sparkle.

"Being able to find things that connect you to your younger self and help make you feel light and airy and youthful, I think that's really important," the "Penthouse" singer says. "To me, glitter helps you get there quickly."

Reflecting on the past decade, Ballerini feels like lived life the fullest in her 20s.

"I have traveled and I have sang my heart out, and I've loved really hard and I've made lifelong friendships and I've fallen on my face — I've done it all. I'm really, really content with the last 10 years of my life, and I'm really excited to see what the next 10 hold," she says.

On her beauty philosophy, the "How Do I Do This" singer has lived by doing "what makes you feel good" — and she relishes in seeing her fans do the same.

"I love when I get to look out at so many people when I'm on tour and take inventory of the beautiful faces in front of me. I love, love, love seeing beautiful young women with not a stitch of makeup on. I love seeing girls that are just full hair, full makeup," she says.

"I love seeing guys that have glitter all over their face. I love seeing all of it. I think makeup and beauty in general, it's just a tool to express yourself," she continues.

Ballerini first fell in love with makeup when she was a young girl going through her mom's makeup bag.

"Playing dress up in mom's clothes and going [through] her makeup bag, it just always felt fun be like her because when you're a kid, you're just looking at your parents as superheroes," she explains.

Now, her favorite part about getting ready is "the hang" — or the "pregame" — with her girlfriends.

"I used to do their makeup before prom or before they'd go see their crush or whatever it was," she says. "I love the camaraderie and the community around getting glam together for a night out."

As a face of CoverGirl, the country star says she's living out a "bucket list" item with a collection to call her own.

"If there's one thing that I can say that I love the most about makeup, it's glitter, and glitter can be easy, breezy. It doesn't always have to be this big, dramatic thing," she says. "It can be easy and approachable and fun and fresh, and so that's what we've done together."
