Kelly Rowland Puts Edgy Twist on Statement Suiting With Studded Ashton Michael Metallic Bra Top

Kelly Rowland attended the launch of the new streaming app Vinivia on Thursday in Los Angeles. For the occasion, the former Destiny’s Child member opted for a semi-monochrome, edgy take on a suit by Giuseppe Di Morabito.
The singer fashioned a pair of high-waisted black trousers with a long black leather trenchcoat draped over her shoulders. Rowland wore a metallic bra top by Ashton Michael and opted for minimal accessories, choosing a pair of stud earrings and a few rings as her jewelry. She also carried a small black bag and a pair of black peep-toe shoes.

Rowland’s look epitomizes pop fashion in a way that’s not often showcased on major red carpets, bringing back the cone bra and elevating a monochromatic look by adding some edginess and stylish flair; a simple addition that makes for a statement piece. It’s a quality Rowland has long possessed in her career, meeting industry occasions and moments with a quintessential pop star approach to high fashion.
Even dating back to Rowland’s days in Destiny’s Child during the early 2000s, the singer’s aptitude for making fashion statements has only grown. Over the course of the last several years, Rowland’s become a true fashion fixation, often collaborating with stylist Wilford Lenov on looks rooted in a true pop star sensibility.
More recently, Rowland’s hardly strayed from experimenting with her fashion, choosing statement-making pieces for various occasions. At the February “Mea Culpa” red carpet premiere in New York, the singer wore a tailored micro short paired with a matching button-down shirt and a plaid coat from Area’s fall 2023 ready-to-wear collection.
While attending “The Book of Clarence” premiere in Los Angeles in January, Rowland dazzled a gold-encrusted bodysuit and blazer by Falguni Shane Peacock, styled by Wilford Lenov, with whom Rowland has collaborated before.
Rowland’s penchant for fashionable looks was recognized in September 2023 when she received the Fashion Icon of the Year Award at Harlem’s Fashion Row Event. She wore a plunging corset dress with a long black velvet skirt and exaggerated dramatic puff sleeves by Ashi Studio.
