Madonna invited Ripa on stage at the Celebration tour in January.

Madonna superfan Kelly Ripa's fantasy about joining the pop icon on stage didn't just include, uh, going on stage at the Celebration tour — Ripa revealed on her Let's Talk Off Camera podcast that she attempted to have a conversation with the singer-songwriter on stage, too.

"We hug each other and I'm not kidding, it's gonna sound like I'm making this up. She said, 'Oh my God. I love you,' and I go, 'No, I love you. I really love you,'" Ripa told her guest, Leslie Bibb, on the SiriusXM show. "I'm staring at her and then I said to her, 'How do you do this every night?' and she was like, 'Okay, we're not gonna do a talk show.'"

Ripa laughed as she noted that Madonna's show was not, in fact, her own show, and also said that nobody in the arena heard the exchange because they didn't have microphones attached to them.

Entertainment Weekly has reached out to representatives for Madonna for comment.

"But, we can hear each other and we were really laughing. I think she was having fun. I was having fun," Ripa said. "She smells so good that I cannot fully, I have not showered still because I wanted to get the last bits, like last night, Mark [Consuelos was] like, 'Oh my God, you smell so good,' and I go, 'I smell like Madonna.'"

In January, Ripa reflected on Madonna asking her to join her for a special performance of "Vogue" on the globe-spanning greatest hits tour, which saw Madonna invite a slew of celebrity guests to guest-judge a runway performance put on by her backup dancers.

"At that point, I, Kelly Ripa, died, so the ghost of Kelly is now walking over," Ripa said of the experience on Live With Kelly and Mark, also revealing that she attended the concert in New York City with her friends, Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen. "I'm hearing words but they're not really making sense. 'She's going to give you a football, you're going to have cards in your hands, things are going to happen,' and I'm just sort of going, 'Why are you talking to me? I died, shouldn't the paramedics come?'"
