Mark Consuelos celebrated his longtime love Kelly Ripa on Mother's Day — but she wasn't too pleased with his tribute.

On Live with Kelly and Mark on Monday, May 13, Ripa spoke with Jimmy Kimmel, 56, about Mother's Day Instagram posts, with Kimmel sharing that his post for his wife Molly didn't go over as he planned.

"Well, first of all, we are in New York and our kids are back in L.A. Usually all the pressure’s on them, really. But this Mother’s Day, I posted a picture on Instagram which I thought would be nice. And I wanted to get the kids in there and our new dog Todd in there," Kimmel begins.

"And I wrote. “Happy Mother’s Day to the lady in the glasses and every great mom.” Apparently, this was the wrong picture to choose and an insufficient message. She’s like, ‘The lady in the glasses, like you don’t even know who I am?’ " Kimmel shares.

"She was very upset. And then I put a very glamorous photograph of her up," Kimmel says, with Ripa saying, "Now that’s a Mother’s Day post."

"It was a little overkill. But then I was looking around to see if I could spread the blame around and I found Mark’s post yesterday. And I wonder how you felt about it," Kimmel asks.

"Well, I was very irritated by this photo. First of all, I’m not Mark’s mom, so I get it. You don’t need to honor me. But he finds a picture of us from 150 years ago where we are both at an amusement park; we’re at a western ranch amusement park in Arizona," Ripa remembers. "It’s 400 degrees. We’ve been sweating all day. We are clinging to each other because we’re so dehydrated. And this is the photo he chooses."

"Well, not just the photo but the message. '2 for 1. Happy Mother’s Day to these two gems. Love you,'" Kimmel reads.

"It almost sounds hostile! These two random gems. He meant the two people behind us!" Ripa jokes.

Later in the segment, Consuelos jokes with Kimmel that they can no longer stick with just cards and flowers as gifts on Mother's Day.

"Here’s the thing: When we were kids, we just get them a card, get them some flowers, and that’s it," Consuelos says.

"There are new rules, we’re not in that world anymore," Kimmel responds.

"There are no rules! No rules. We’ve been bamboozled. That’s not reality. It’s not reality!" Consuelos jokes.

The Live co-hosts shared then snaps from their spring festivities, which included daughter Lola, 22, and sons Michael, 26, and Joaquin, 21.
