Kelly Ripa Celebrates Her 53rd Birthday as Mark Consuelos Kids He'd 'Be in a Monastery' If She Hadn't Been Born

The 'Live with Kelly and Mark' host turned 53 on Monday and shared that her October birth meant her parents conceived her around New Year's Eve thanks to "lots of champagne"

Mark Conseulos is counting his lucky stars that Kelly Ripa was born.

Ripa turned 53 on Monday, and her husband marked the occasion on air as they hosted Live with Kelly and Mark together.

“I am so glad that you were born,” Consuelos, 52, told his wife. “It has changed my life tremendously.”

Ripa jokingly asked the Riverdale star what he would be doing if she hadn’t been born, and he said, “I’d be sad and lonely. Probably in a monastery somewhere.”

“Yes, you always wanted to be living in a monastery,” she quipped.

The longtime Live host also shared, much to the chagrin of some viewers, that she’d deduced when her parents had conceived her.

“By the way, any of you Oct. 2 birthdays out there, just so you all know, our parents did it on or around New Year’s Eve,” she said, giving a shoutout to any of her birthday twins who were tuning in. “You’re welcome! If I know that then you should also know that.”

Consuelos said of the holiday, “It’s a good night. Champagne!”

“Lots of champagne,” Ripa agreed.

Consuelos didn’t stop at gushing over his wife of 27 years on the air, he also shared a sweet tribute to her on Instagram.

“Another trip around the sun for the heart and soul of our family,” he wrote in the caption as he shared a video montage of photos of Ripa and their family, including their daughter, Lola, 22, and sons Michael, 26, and Joaquin, 20. “Happy birthday sexy ♥️♥️ we love you.”

Ripa commented on the post, “Thanks babe, i love you ❤️”

Sharing their love for each other is nothing new for the Live co-hosts, who have never been shy about their romance.

In June, Consuelos opened up about how they keep their marriage steamy during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.

The former soap opera actor played a game of “Agree or Disagree!” and surprised host Andy Cohen, 55, as he disagreed with the statement that Ripa is the "hornier" one in the relationship.

He also expressed his opinion on “texting a nude photo” given his fame. He said it’s “definitely” a no, even when Cohen clarified that the head could be cut off in the picture.

Consuelos also revealed that his bedroom dirty talk is “only in Spanish” and rated himself as an “average five and a half” when it comes to how much of a “cuddle monster” he is.
