Kelly Clarkson didn’t only bring back Simon, Paula and Randy for the “American Idol” reunion on her talk show.
EW reports, Clarkson brought Justin Guarini to the reunion on her talk show, which will air on September 18.
Clarkson beat out Guarini during the first season of “American Idol” to become the first-ever winner. The judges on the show where Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson. She took home the prize and he was runner-up.
The two would later star in a 2003 movie “From Justin to Kelly”, which was ravaged by critics. Clarkson would later reveal she cried during filming and was contractually obligated to appear.
Sources tell The Blast, the reunion taping went down earlier this month.
According to sources in the audience, the crowd went wild when they all came out. They shared stories about time on Idol and caught up. The reunion was the first time in years they have all been together.
Sources tell us Ryan Seacrest also joined the foursome via satellite. The reunion has been in the works for weeks and it will air very soon.
Clarkson’s talk show premiered this week with it starting off with actor Steve Carell, recreating his famous movie line.
Her first sit-down guest was The Rock, who stepped him for Kevin Hart following his car crash.
On her second episode, Clarkson surprised music teachers with help from America Ferrera and Celine Dion.
She even surprised the teachers with an all-expense trip paid cruise on the new ‘Norwegian Encore’. Clarkson partnered with Norwegian Cruise Line and was named the godmother of the new ship.
Sources close to production tell The Blast that everyone is very excited for Kelly and she has been a joy to work with.
Deadline reported Clarkson’s show launched with strong ratings. The show had the highest debut rating for any syndicated show in seven years. The premiere episode had a 1.9 household rating. The debut was on par with the premiere of Katie Couric’s talk show in 2012.
