Kelly Clarkson is putting her comedy skills on display in a backstage video while preparing for the launch of her highly-anticipated talk show.
The singer – and soon-to-be host of “The Kelly Clarkson Show” – posted video of herself walking around the set of the show, which premieres September 9.
In the clip, she walks with crew members on set, saying, “I don’t know where we’re going. I don’t know. Nobody told me, Candice.”
She continues, “Are we making a chance? Are we breaking away?” ... which is a reference to her 2nd album “Breakaway” released in 2004, which also included the hit song “Breakaway."
The cameraman says, “No pun intended” to which Clarkson responds, “You went there. I did.”
Clarkson has been slowly teasing the show and even recently revealed the look of her gorgeous set, which includes a live band playing her intro and outros.
The walls are even covered in gold and platinum records.
The singer, who currently judges on NBC’s "The Voice," launches her daytime show next month. The details of her show have been kept under wraps for months with only limited previews being released.
Sources close to production tell The Blast that everyone is very excited for Kelly and she has been a joy to work with.
The show is going full force with NBCUniversal locking down 200-plus stations for the launch of "The Kelly Clarkson Show," meaning it will air in 99% of the country. She will be the lead-in for "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" in most markets.
NBC announced the show stating, “In each episode, audiences will experience an hour full of remarkable stories, celebrity guests, spontaneous surprises, humor, heart and, of course, good music! It’s like a weekday brunch party with a fascinating guest list of people who would otherwise never meet."
