Singer Kelly Clarkson is finally sharing the secret to her amazing weight loss.

In recent times, she has undergone a significant body transformation, shedding a substantial amount of weight that has caught widespread attention.

Speaking in a new interview, she has now unveiled the secrets behind it all and discussed the type of diet she adheres to.

In her cover story with People, Clarkson shared her journey of weight loss and how "listening" to her doctor made it all happen.

She disclosed that she used to lead an "unhappy" life in Los Angeles before relocating to New York for a "fresh start." Now, in the Big Apple, she has embraced outdoor activities that stimulate the necessary metabolism.

"Walking in the city is quite the workout," Clarkson told the publication. "And I'm really into infrared saunas right now. And I just got a cold plunge because everybody wore me down."

Sticking to a diet also played a major part in her weight loss. Instead of adopting a fully vegan lifestyle, she maintains a "healthy mix" that incorporates meat into her meals.

She added, "I dropped weight because I've been listening to my doctor — a couple years I didn't. And 90 percent of the time, I'm really good at it because a protein diet is good for me anyway. I'm a Texas girl, so I like meat — sorry, vegetarians in the world!"

Kelly Clarkson Had Previously Hinted About Her Weight Loss

Prior to her sit-down with People, the TV personality hinted at her weight loss during an episode of her eponymous show in December.

At the time, Clarkson let slip that she didn't need to wear Spanx again - underwear intended to make people appear thinner or more shapely. She added that she only now wears them for "warmth like thermals" because the building where her show is produced is "so cold."

Then in November, she expressed frustration about the challenges of finding clothes that fit her changing body during a discussion about weight loss with guests Jenna Bush Hager and Barbara Bush.

"I love losing weight. But jeans are so hard. I feel like jeans are so hard when you have a butt and, like, a smaller waist," Clarkson told the duo,  adding that finding the right jeans is a "first-world" problem.

The Talk Show Host Is Not Using Weight Loss Pills

Back in 2019, Clarksom refuted speculations that she was using weight loss supplements like the type 2 diabetes drug Ozempic to hasten the shedding of weight.

"Other fake news that's going around about me is that I've been taking weird pills 4 weight loss or doing weird fad diets. All of this is not true," the singer said in a Twitter post, now X.

"I ain't got time 4 all that. I eat the same stuff I always have. It's all just made w/different flours/sugars/ingredients."

In October last year, a source further confirmed Clarkson's statement while explaining how she goes about staying in shape.

The insider said, "She's limited her sugar and carb intake. She's cut out soda, chips, biscuits, cheese, and tortillas. And she's added exercise, mostly cardio, into her weekly routine," the insider said. "She's lost about 40 pounds. She feels amazing."

Kelly Clarkson Previously Battled With Depression

On the outside, it seems like it's all positive vibes for Clarkson, as seen by her weight loss and her talk show scoring six wins at the Daytime Emmy Awards. However, the singer was down with depression for a while, spurred by her divorce from her husband, Brandon Blackstock.

"The level of depression and things that come with divorce or grieving is extraordinarily hard," Clarkson said of the end of her nearly seven-year marriage to her former manager.

"You feel alone, and it's just a blessing to be able to have that outlet for those emotions that are overwhelming."

The "American Idol" alum eventually was able to get out of that dark place by working on her album, "Chemistry," which debuted sometime last year.

For Clarkson, the experience of working on the album felt like she was "taking her power back," and she is appreciative that she had such a "healthy outlet."
