Continued Examination

In the wake of the Me Too movement, people have been examining different aspects of media nostalgia, and some things that were once beloved have been found... wanting. One of these former classics is the Christmas song "Baby, It's Cold Outside." Sure, the song is catchy, but a closer listen to the lyrics reveals a pretty troubling message.

"I really can’t stay.""But baby, it’s cold outside.""Say what's in this drink?""The answer is no.""I've gotta get home."

Yikes.

A Reworked Classic

In a new interview and photo spread with Vanity Fair, singer, musician, and judge on The Voice John Legend revealed that he and co-host and pop star Kelly Clarkson have reworked the classic into a new, less rapey version in an upcoming duet.

Ringing In The Holiday Season

The song will appear on Legend's upcoming holiday album A Legendary Christmas: The Deluxe Edition, and the singer wrote the new lyrics with Insecure's Natasha Rothwell. According to Vanity Fair, the new lyrics are "every bit as fun and swinging as the original, and its newfound sensitivity feels genuine, not performative" and are as follows:

"What will my friends think ..." "I think they should rejoice." "... if I have one more drink?" "It’s your body and your choice."

Is this update a good idea or will you be sticking to the original?
