Kelly Clarkson and ex Brandon Blackstock reportedly settle legal dispute over $2.6 million in commissions

The former couple will avoid a bench trial that had been slated to begin in August.

Kelly Clarkson and ex-husband Brandon Blackstock's legal dispute over millions of dollars in commissions appears to be over.

The pop singer and the music executive have reached a settlement and withdrawn their dueling lawsuits, according to PEOPLE. Details of the settlement have not been revealed, but a source told PEOPLE, "Everything is settled." The former couple will therefore avoid a bench trial that had been slated to begin in August.

Rolling Stone first reported the settlement. Representatives for Clarkson and Blackstock didn't respond to Entertainment Weekly's requests for comment.

Clarkson sued Blackstock, her former husband and manager, in March, claiming that he might owe her more than the $2.6 million he was ordered to pay her four months prior in connection with several business deals that were allegedly illegally procured on her behalf dating back to 2007.

According to court documents, Clarkson claimed that Blackstone's management firm Starstruck "performed the functions, and acted in the capacity, of an unlicensed talent agency" when she first entered into an oral agreement with the company 17 years ago, and that Starstruck violated the Talent Agencies Act by "unlawfully procuring employment" for her without a license.

Clarkson was seeking "full and complete accounting from Starstruck of all monies received by Starstruck, directly or indirectly, in connection with any and all contracts, employment, or engagements pertaining in any way to the personal services of [Clarkson]."

Blackstock fired back at Clarkson's claims in April, with him and Starstruck denying "each and every allegation" in a court filing requesting that her suit be thrown out.

Clarkson and Blackstock began dating in 2013 and married that same year. Blackstock served as her manager from 2017 until 2020, when she filed for divorce. Their split was finalized in 2022. The two share two children.
