Kelly Clarkson’s ‘Carpool Karaoke’ Ride Puts James Corden To Sleep — Briefly

The “Carpool Karaoke” sensation continued this week as original American Idol champ Kelly Clarkson joined CBS’ The Late Late Show host James Carden for a little musical motoring. Check it out above.

The 10-minute clip starts out in spunky enough fashion as the two tag-team her 2004 hit “Since U Been Gone.” But things go (fake) south after Corden suggests that Clarkson has a “voice where you can make anything sound good” and she obliges his request to sing a nursery rhyme, a cappella. The host appears to nod off — a dodgy maneuver when one is behind the wheel of a car on Los Angeles street.

Have a peek at the video of Clarkson and Corden trading gags and stories between songs that also include her No. 1 smash “Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You).” It all ends with a surprise “date night” for the singer — complete with romance, violins and a question about exactly what kind of video they’re making here.
