Kelis’ calm aura makes her the best person to transform a disastrous moment into a positive one.

Recently, the singer’s RV fell into a ditch as she slept in the back and she realized that her outfit would be the perfect deterrent for local wildlife.

“We always need a nice, comfortable sweatshirt, a little split-toe sneaker, an animal-print legging to distract the local wildlife… There are bears here, but I’m a leopard,” joked the mother of three on Instagram.

She later labeled her fit “disaster fashion” and teased that the accident could’ve potentially been avoided if the driver had taken his “brain food,” a supplement made of “lions mane, rhodiola, chaga, cordyceps, turkey tail, reishi, shiitake, cocoa, dehydrated coconut milk, cinnamon, maca, date powder, and maitake” from her wellness company, Bounty & Full.

Fans loved her light-hearted nature, as seen in the comments of the Instagram post. One wrote, “She makes survival look good.. lol.” Meanwhile, music executive Kei Henderson commented what we were all thinking, “Can u do audiobooks? Or Calm App meditations? Thanks…”

Another fan added, “The spoon drop just added to the calamity!,” before recalling a separate “disaster fashion” moment from an incident involving Kelis and her children where she was wearing “Suuuper bomb coat with fur.”

This occurred in February 2023. The “Milkshake” artist planned to have a fun snow day with her children, but also fell off a cliff headed to Big Bear Lake in California. According to PEOPLE, there was a blizzard advisory in place, considering the area hadn’t had a warning of that magnitude since 1989.

Kelis joked, “We’ve been outside for a while, but we had all this snowboarding gear. So God is good. And I figured if you’re going to be in the situation, you should at least look your best. So I’m wearing layers to keep warm. I’ve got my light on, thank God, because it’s pitch black out here. Silver boots, little reflective action. You know, things could be worse. This is ridiculous. Rescue fashion! This is rescue fashion. See? Always be prepared.”

In both instances, no injuries were reported.
