Kel Mitchell shared an update for fans after a recent health scare. The comedic actor took to Instagram early Thursday morning (Nov. 9) thanking his followers for well wishes as he returns home to heal following his “genuinely frightening” experience.

News of Mitchell’s hospitalization was first reported by TMZ on Wednesday night. According to the tabloid, the 45-year-old was seen in a Los Angeles area emergency room on Tuesday and was treated overnight.

“Grateful for the flood of prayers and positive vibes that surrounded me during a genuinely frightening time,” wrote the Game Shakers star, not revealing the nature of his illness.

He continued to detail, “That scare was real, but so was the support. With the grace of God and the skill of the medical team, I’m now on the road to recovery at home, embraced by the love of my family. Your kindness has been a lifeline, and I can’t thank you enough. Much love to each of you.”

The health scare comes ahead of the nostalgic Good Burger franchise’s new millennium return later this month. Set to premiere Nov. 22 on Paramount +, the film finds the Chicago native back on the screen with his longtime collaborator, Kenan Thompson.

Reprising his role as Ed, he asks “Are you ready for seconds,” in the official trailer for the sequel. Both lead actors are also producing the film.

Additional original cast members returning for Good Burger 2 are Josh Server, Lori Beth Denberg, and Carmen Electra. The film also stars Lil Rel Howery, Jillian Bell, Kamaia Fairburn, Alex R. Hibbert, Fabrizio Guido, Elizabeth Hinkler, Emily Hinkler, and Anabel Graetz.
