Keke Palmer and SZA are set to make their bestie debut in a forthcoming buddy comedy film. Following the instant chemistry between the two stars on Saturday Night Live in December of 2022, Palmer and SZA have been tapped to star in an untitled comedy produced by Issa Rae, according to Deadline.

It’s unclear what exactly the plot will be, but this will mark SZA’s first starring role in a feature film. The musician previously made an appearance on one episode of Issa Rae’s HBO series Insecure in 2020.

The comedy film is being written by Rap Sh!t showrunner Syreeta Singleton and directed by Lawrence Lamont, also of Rap Sh!t. Keke Palmer and Sharon Palmer will serve as executive producers.

Palmer shared the news on Instagram on Friday, with the caption “I CAN’T WAIT!!!”

Palmer hosted SNL with musical guest SZA on December 3, 2022, which birthed the viral hit satire song, “Big Boy.” Though it wasn’t a real song and was meant to be one of the show’s digital shorts, the song became an instant classic online. Palmer also used that moment to announce that she was expecting her first child.

"There's some rumors going around, people have been in my comments saying, 'Keke's having a baby, Keke's pregnant,' and I wanna set the record straight — I am,” she said during her opening monologue. The actor later gave birth to a son Leodis, Leo for short, on February 27, 2023. The actor has been open about becoming a new mother while also launching her own businesses and juggling being in the public eye.

Aside from announcing a pregnancy, Palmer and SZA made such a splash on SNL at the time and created some memorable moments, which leads us to believe that landed them a buddy comedy. Consider us seated.
