How does your garden grow? For Keke Palmer, very, very high, if we’re talking about her ponytail. The multi-hyphenate star arrived at the 2024 Met Gala bringing new meaning—and height—to the high ponytail, wearing a custom Marc Jacobs gown seemingly plucked from a magical kingdom.

Hairstylist Tamika Gibson worked Palmer’s strands into a super sleek ponytail (with nary a hair out of place), wrapping hair around the base to reach sky-high height and major drama. Her pony flowed from its striking base, creating a sleek cascade.

Makeup artist Kenya Alexis wisely kept the rest of her glam in muted tones, with smoky eyes that brought out the earthy hues of her gown. A nude your-lips-but-better lipstick kept pace with the palette, with a subtle pop of blush on her enviable cheekbones.

Alexis used some of Milk Makeup's best-sellers to achieve her look. Some of the products in her kit included the Hydro Grip Primer ($38), Hydro Grip Eyeshadow Primer ($25), Matte Bronzer ($24) in Blaze, and the Cooling Water Jelly Tint ($24) in Burst.

In a nod to the “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion” theme, the Emmy winner’s custom Marc Jacobs gown was adorned with frayed sequin pieces and antique beaded embroidery. Almasika jewelry and Marc Jacobs satin Kiki Boots completed the ensemble.
