Last week, Keke Palmer’s was granted a restraining order against her ex-boyfriend, Darius Jackson, and custody of their son, Leodis. Jackson has reportedly denied the allegations of abuse made against him.
In reference to footage that was included in Palmer’s filing, a source close to Darius has told TMZ that the couple got into heated argument over their son that day. The source explained Darius “had texted Keke about going to pick up his son to watch football last Sunday, but when he arrived to Keke’s place, Leo wasn’t there.”
From there, the argument ensued, and the Akeelah and the Bee actress called her mom and put her on speakerphone. According to TMZ, Sharon, Keke’s mother, allegedly told Darius she’d “put a bullet in his head.” Then, Darius tried to take the phone away from Keke, leading to the tussle caught on camera.

The outlet reported that Darius “absolutely denies abusing Keke,” and cops “didn’t find any probable cause to arrest him for [domestic violence]” when they were called. TMZ then shared a screenshot of a conversation between Darius’ mother and Sharon about the incident.
“Hello Sharon. How are you? I have tried not to get involved in my son’s personal business, but I heard that you are going to put a bullet in my sons head??? Well, then now we have to involve the authorities, because you don’t deserve respect or value yourself and I can see no my son’s life,” Darius’ mother, who is saved under the contact name Yhinyer, typed to Sharon.
She concluded, “You might have to kill all of us. I will file a police report on you now.”
Keke’s mother replied by calling out Darius’ behavior, writing, “Please do not contact me with this ridiculous childish behavior your son choked his own sister, deal with his anger issues, if he attacks my daughter in her own [home] where she pays the bills he is trespassing and anything can happen so he should stay away. You should be very ashamed to have raised a man who fights women.”
A source updated TMZ on Monday morning (Nov. 13) that Sharon felt the need to make the threat about the bullet because she “feared for her daughter’s safety and couldn’t be there in person to protect Keke.”
The KeyTV creator filed her report last week due to alleged ongoing “emotional and manipulative” abuse from Jackson. The two began dating in 2021 and their son was born earlier this year.
“I am very concerned for Leo’s safety with Darius given his violent, volatile, and jealous nature, comments he has made which have caused me grave concern, and the lack of restraint Darius has already exhibited regarding his temper in front of our son,” the Nope star reportedly said in her statement.
