Since being granted a restraining order from her ex-boyfriend, Darius Jackson, and getting sole custody of their son, Keke Palmer has not made a public statement on the matter. The KeyTV mogul, instead, is continuing to do what she always does—get to the bag and keep the show moving.

Part of this includes remaining consistent with her podcast, Baby, This Is Keke Palmer. The latest episode featuring Dr. Drew Pinsky was titled a “free therapy session,” in which he helped Palmer unpack many things like “generational toxicity, trauma reenactment, and abuse in relationships” as well as a “rude awakening” she discovered once she started dating again.

After witnessing her parents, Sharon and Larry Palmer’s loving relationship at home, her naiveté made her unaware that not every man would mimic that same energy in relationships.

“Misogyny came at me hard and quick, with the quickness. I grew up in a house where my mom would say, ‘This is what it needs to be.’ And Larry would be like, ‘Okay Sharon, go on ahead Sharon.’ So for me, when I entered outside of my household and I saw that everybody doesn’t really respect their wives or even women in the way that my dad respects my mom, it’s a pretty rude awakening,” explained the 30-year-old.

Later in the episode, Palmer and Pinsky identify who is the “bad one” in relationships.

The Big Boss artist stated, “I think a lot of people have this question and the question is: Am I the bad one? We’re all in different dynamics with friends, family, lovers, and you find yourself saying, well damn it, am I playing a game on myself, and I’m actually the person that’s doing wrong? How does someone know if they’re, and look, it takes two to tango, right? But how does someone know when they did the wrong thing and they’re really the issue. How do you know when you’re the issue?”

To which the former Loveline host responded, “Keke, the person who is re-evaluating themselves, trying to do what’s right, contemplating they could be doing what’s wrong, that is rarely the person who’s doing wrong.”

Palmer also shared the domestic violence hotline number in the Instagram post when promoting the new episode.

She recently accused Jackson of abusing her in front of 9-month-old, Leodis. According to the court documents that led to the restraining order, Jackson allegedly “slammed [Palmer] on the floor and slapped [her] head from side to side.” In a separate instance, she claimed he broke into her home, “lunged at [her], grabbing at [her] neck and face, knocked [her] backwards over the couch, stole [her] phone.”
