Keith Urban Revealed the Sweet Way Nicole Kidman’s Presence Affects His Shows

Keith Urban’s latest confession about how his wife of 18 years, Nicole Kidman, impacts his concert performances shows that true love doesn’t just stay behind the scenes, even if they tend to be somewhat private. With a Las Vegas residency at Fontainebleau Las Vegas on the horizon, running from October 4-12, 2024, and again from February 14-22, 2025, Urban got real about the special sauce that makes his shows sizzle.

Chatting with People, Urban couldn’t help but gush over the boost he gets from having Kidman in the audience. He said, “It fires me up a bit more. I try to impress her.” It’s like every show is a chance for him to win her heart all over again — which the two also seem to do every time they heat up the red carpet with some PDA.

Urban and Kidman’s love story kicked off in 2005, quickly becoming one of the most followed romances. Just a year after they started dating, the couple tied the knot on June 25, 2006, in a beautiful ceremony in Sydney. Their family grew with the arrival of their first daughter in 2008, followed by their second in 2010.

Urban even compares trying to wow Kidman at his shows to how he always wanted to make his dad proud. “I feel like I’m still trying to make my dad proud, and I think my dad was proud years ago,” he explained. “My dad’s not even alive anymore and I still feel like I’m trying to get his approval. Certain things just stay part of my fire.”

The couple’s red carpet appearances are a testament to their strong bond, with each event showcasing their shared joy and undeniable chemistry — and they don’t shy away from showing the love in front of their daughters, either. Whether it’s a tender glance or a shared laugh, Kidman’s support radiates, amplifying Urban’s already electrifying shows.
