As a teen he lied about his age to enter an Australian singing competition, and another time he paid a person to stand in line with a chained briefcase at a John Mayer meet and greet to pay John for an amplifier he bought. Keith also reveals that one time when he forgot the lyrics to a song on stage he pretended his microphone was broken. His performance was so believable one of the road crew ran out and immediately replaced it.
