Keisha Nash, Forest Whitaker’s Ex-Wife, Cause Of Death Revealed

It’s been determined that Keisha Nash Whitaker died from alcoholic liver disease, as per TMZ.
The actress and model, who was married to Forest Whitaker for 22 years, died on Dec. 6, 2023 at age 51. Her death certificate noted that she lived with the disease for “years” and also listed acute renal failure as another major factor that may have contributed to her death.
Nash was buried in Los Angeles on Dec. 20.
The news of her death was confirmed by her daughter, True, on Dec. 7. Via Instagram, the 25-year-old wrote, “Goodbye mommy. I love you 4ever and beyond. The most beautiful woman in the world … thank you for teaching me every single thing I know. I’ll see you in my dreams and I’ll feel you in my heart.”
The Godfather Of Harlem actress also shared a photo of her mother with lyrics from Donny Hathaway’s “A Song For You.” In a separate tribute post, True wrote, “The funniest, brightest and most beautiful in the entire universe. I love you mom and nothing will ever change that. I already feel you in my heart, your power, your glow, your fierceness.”
She continued, “It’s going to be hard to navigate this world without you physically, although you’re now my most powerful angel, I know you’ll guide me through this life. I miss everything about you, I miss the laughter. Thank you for being you. Thank you for Everything. My butterfly, my lady bug, my mom. I love you.”
Whitaker, 62, and Nash met on the set of Blown Away in 1994. He proposed the following year and they wed in 1996. Together, they had True and another daughter, Sonnet, 27. The Waiting To Exhale director has two older children, Autumn and Ocean, from previous relationships.
He and Nash divorced in December 2018 after 22 years of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences.
