The Idea of You, The Color Purple and Leave the World Behind are just a few TV show and movie titles in the past year that were adapted from best-selling novels and books. And while we know of many other non-adaptations we’ve loved, there’s something about book-to-screen adaptations we always connect with. After all, there’s nothing quite like the thrill of reading a book and seeing it come to life years later.

So, in case you feel similarly to us, there’s one book we think you should be adding to your TBR list: The Woman in Cabin 10 by Ruth Ware.

According to People, the best-selling 2017 thriller will not only be adapted to the big screen but already has a leading lady and a director signed up. Per the outlet, Keira Knightley will star as the protagonist, travel writer Lo Blacklock, while Simon Stone is set to direct.

The novel, which is available at 50% off right now on Amazon, follows Lo as she embarks on a seemingly idyllic assignment: to spend a week on a luxury cruise with only a handful of cabins. At first, the luxury cruise ship, Aurora, goes perfectly according to plan and depicts the best of what luxury travel has to offer.

Soon, however, things take a turn.

“But as the week wears on, frigid winds whip the deck, gray skies fall, and Lo witnesses what she can only describe as a dark and terrifying nightmare: a woman being thrown overboard,” the description reads. “The problem? All passengers remain accounted for—and so, the ship sails on as if nothing has happened, despite Lo’s desperate attempts to convey that something (or someone) has gone terribly, terribly wrong…”

In one of the Amazon reviews, one reader calls the novel a “thrilling, claustrophobic mystery.” “Ware’s narrative is tight and fast-paced, evoking a palpable sense of dread that builds with each twist and turn of the ship and plot,” the reviewer details. “The confined setting of the cruise ship adds a layer of intensity, making the story not only a mystery but also an exploration of the protagonist’s psyche as she grapples with her own anxiety and reliability as a narrator.”

While Knightley’s adaptation has no air date just yet, there’s no better time than now to read the story and get caught up before it hits the big screen. Get your copy today!
