Keanna Reeves arrested for cyber libel

19 Nov – Actress-comedienne Keanna Reeves has recently been arrested by police for a cyber-libel case.

As reported on PEP, the actress was seen taken by the officers Laguna Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) and the Calamba City Police Station along Timog Avenue in Quezon City for violation of Republic Act No. 10175, or the Cybercrime Prevention Act.

According to Chief Inspector Cyrus Serrano, chief of the CIDG-Laguna Provincial Field Unit, Keanna will be brought to Cabuyao, Laguna to undergo a booking procedure. Her bail has been set at P20,000.

The case was revealed to have filed by businesswoman Nancy Dimaranan in Laguna.

Dimaranan reportedly filed the case after Reeves insulted her in a live video posted on social media by calling her gay, a pig, and a devil. She claimed that Reeves' video has affected her children.

The Facebook rant was sparked by a talent fee and contract issue, after Dimaranan failed to pay Reeves a satisfactory additional fee she asked for transportation expenses when the comedienne went to Calamba for a performance.
