Katy Perry Weighs in on the Taylor Swift-Calvin Harris Drama

Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris’s nasty war of “sources” finally took a turn on Wednesday. Teams representing Swift and Harris have been battling behind the scenes in the media for their respective clients, and the DJ himself decided to weigh in on the most recent headline today.

Harris (real name: Adam Wiles) went on the defense when it was revealed that Swift wrote the lyrics and melody for his current hit, “This Is What You Came For.”

“I figure if you’re happy in your new relationship you should focus on that instead of trying to tear your ex bf down for something to do,” he said in a flurry of tweets. “I know you’re off tour and you need someone new to try and bury like Katy ETC but I’m not that guy, sorry. I won’t allow it.”

Naturally, Katy Perry had a little something to say about the situation as well. Perry — Swift’s nemesis at the center of her song “Bad Blood” — tweeted out a GIF of Hillary Clinton that we can only assume sums up her feelings about Calvin’s tweets.

To us, that screams smug and “told ya so!”

Perry then retweeted something she wrote on May 9, 2015: “Time, the ultimate truth teller.”

So what exactly was going on in May 2015? If you’ll recall, this was right around the time Swift premiered her “Bad Blood” music video, in which she fired shots (literally) in Perry’s direction.

Perry’s not the only one getting involved in the Taylor-Calvin action. Harris fans (and Swift haters) have been flooding the superstar’s Instagram page with snakes. Meanwhile, Swifties have been battling back with hearts.

Poor emojis — leave them out of this!

So … now that Perry has spoken, who else are we waiting (slash hoping) to hear from?

Swift’s squad — including Selena Gomez, Gigi Hadid, Karlie Kloss, and Blake Lively — may be called into action. However, Gomez is a friend of Perry’s, too, so this might be a sticky situation for her.

As for Harris, he’s got frequent collaborator and friend Rihanna in his corner. She also just so happens to be one of Perry’s BFFs. We imagine Kanye West is going to want to get in on the drama too. He and wife Kim Kardashian recently took Swift to task for always playing the victim.
