Katy Perry is in her feels after her final “American Idol” episode! The pop star chatted with Access Hollywood after Sunday’s Season 22 finale on May 19 where she expressed all the emotions she was experiencing. “I’ve cried a lot tonight and I’m feeling really grateful,” Katy shared, before adding that she was planning on celebrating with drinks and food. The “California Gurls” singer also touched on the final hug with fellow judges Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie. “I just was taking it all in. That chat will never die – the ‘Judgmentals’ is the name of our chat. But I love them so much and I’m so grateful.” Despite all the emotions she was feeling, the pop star expressed how happy she was to see Abi Carter crowned this season’s winner. “That’s like my cherry on top for seven seasons – that’s my gift,” she shared, adding, “I think she’s so angelic, she sings with a whole different frequency.” As for who’s taking over her seat? The “Waking Up In Vegas” singer says she’s heard rumblings, but wants whoever it is to confirm the news themselves, although did tease that the “gossip is good.” Katy also chatted about her 3-year-old daughter, Daisy whom she shares with Orlando Bloom, revealing that she’s an extrovert! “Whenever she calls me ‘Katy Perry,’ I’m like ‘I’m your mother!’ I don’t want you to call me ‘Katy Perry’ – it’s pretty funny.” And now that the pop star is done with her “Idol” journey could new music be on the way? While Katy did not confirm too much, she did point out that her schedule will free up a bit, teasing, “Well now I got all the time in the world, so got to get to work.”
